Indivisible Lake Norman was initially inspired by the 2024 Indivisible: A Practical Guide to Democracy on the Brink.
Written by Founders and Co-Executive Directors, Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg, who were previously congressional staffers. Indivisible’s Guides offer a practical approach for fighting against Trumpism and fixing our democracy.
Peaceful, Nonviolent Protest
Indivisible Lake Norman advocates for peaceful protest as we exercise our first amendment rights. When we plan protests, you can rest assured we have a permit if it is required and discussed with the local police departments the location and an estimate of the number of protesters we expect.
There is an inherent risk to protesting and we cannot guarantee your safety at any protest.
One of our core principles behind Indivisible Lake Norman is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
